# See where you rank in Google, every day.

Rank Tracking in Ranksmile

**Diagram:** A tracked keyword checked every day on its device in its country, stored with its position, the URL that ranked and the Google results around it.

## What a check records

Each run stores the result, not just the number — the URL that ranked and the Google results around it, down to position 100.

### Per device, per location.

Every tracked keyword carries a country and a `devices` of its own, so desktop and mobile are tracked as separate keywords instead of being averaged into one.

### Buckets, not just an average.

The summary shows how many keywords sit in positions 1–3, 4–10, 11–20 and 21–100, how many moved up or down over the week, and how visibility and the average position changed.

### What every check keeps

- Position
- Ranking URL
- Page title
- Best position
- Top 100 results

## Track the keywords that actually pay the bills.

Add keywords per site, each with its own country and device. Every keyword is checked once a day.

### Checked every day

Every keyword is checked once a day, down to position 100, with nothing to schedule. A keyword you add gets its first result in the next daily check.

### Compare back to `30d`

See each keyword against 1, 7 and 30 days ago, next to its best position ever, then take the list out as `csv`with the filters you set.

### The results page, kept

Open a keyword to see the Google results from its last check, with your page marked among the sites it competes with.

## Your questions, answered

### What does Ranksmile rank tracking do?

It checks where your site sits in Google for the keywords you track, once a day and down to position 100. Each check keeps the position, the URL that ranked and the results page itself, so a movement can be explained by what now ranks around you rather than just noticed.

### How often are positions checked?

Once a day, for every tracked keyword, with nothing to schedule. A keyword you add gets its first result in the next daily check, and its history builds from there.

### Are desktop and mobile tracked separately?

Yes. Each keyword is tracked on one device, and adding it for both desktop and mobile makes two keywords. Nothing is blended into a single average, because the two often diverge for the same keyword.

### Can I track more than one country or language?

Yes. Each keyword carries its own country, so one site can track the same term in several markets side by side.

### What does the summary show?

Visibility, the average position, how many keywords were found, estimated traffic where search volume is known, how many keywords moved up or down over the last 7 days, and how the set splits across positions 1–3, 4–10, 11–20 and 21–100. Each figure shows its change against a week earlier, for exactly the keywords your filters select.

### Can I compare periods and export the data?

Yes. Every keyword shows its change over 1, 7 and 30 days next to its best position ever, and the list exports as CSV with the filters you set.

### Where does search volume come from?

It is fetched for each keyword in its country and language and refreshed every month, so the list can be sorted by what is worth chasing rather than by rank alone.

### What happens if a check fails?

The keyword keeps its last good position and the failure is noted on the row. The next check tries again, so one failed check does not wipe out a position or its history.

### What happens to the history when I stop tracking a keyword?

Stopping tracking deletes the keyword together with its history. To keep the keywords that matter in view instead, star them: starred keywords stay at the top of the list.

### How does this fit with AI Visibility?

They answer different questions about the same site. Rank tracking tells you where a page sits in the ten blue links. AI Visibility tells you whether an answer engine names your brand at all. Ranksmile keeps both on one site, so a page that ranks but never gets cited shows up as exactly that.

### How many keywords can I track?

Tracking is on every plan. What scales with the tier is the surrounding volume: prompts, documents, Brand Spaces and crawl size. See the [pricing page](https://ranksmile.pl/pricing) for the limits per plan.

## Backend services

Everything the positions sit next to. Visibility, scoring, rankings, audits and publishing all read the same site, the same prompts and the same competitors.

### AI Visibility

Five engines read every prompt, and the answers are stored.

### Content Score

Your draft graded live against the pages already winning the query.

### Rank Tracking

Positions on your own schedule, desktop and mobile, per country.

### WordPress publishing

Finished drafts land as Gutenberg blocks with images sideloaded.

### Site Audit

A crawl that reports what is broken and whether answer-engine crawlers reach you.

## Built for the teams and the agents behind them.

Nothing on the dashboard is an estimate. Every score traces back to an answer we stored, a URL an engine cited, or a position from its last check, and the same data is available to your own agents over MCP.

### Traceable

Each scan keeps the answer text and the citations it came back with, so you can always read the sentence a number came from.

### Scheduled

Prompts refresh weekly or daily depending on your plan, and rank checks run on the schedule you set. Nothing waits for you to remember.

### Agent-ready

Connect Claude, Codex or your own agent over MCP and let it read your visibility data and drive the editor, using the same interfaces you do.

**How it holds up**

## Measured, not guessed.

Five AI engines plus Google rankings, on the prompts your buyers actually ask.

- **5** AI engines read on every scan - AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini.

- **90d** Of position history to compare any run against, desktop and mobile
