# WordPress plugin

Publish and update posts from Ranksmile without leaving the app.

The plugin connects a WordPress site to a Brand Space, so a piece that is written, scored and approved in Ranksmile can go live without a copy-paste round trip.

## What it removes

The round trip is not just inconvenient, it is where quality is lost. A page copied into WordPress loses its formatting, gets fixed by hand, and ends up subtly different from the version that was scored. The published page is then not the page you measured.

With the plugin connected, what you approved is what publishes.

## Setting it up

## Install the plugin on your WordPress site

From the WordPress admin, the usual way.

## Connect it to the Brand Space

The plugin asks which space it belongs to and authorizes against your account. One site, one space.

## Confirm the connection

Publish a draft as a test before you schedule anything real. It is two minutes and it catches permission problems before they catch a scheduled post.

## What it can do

Publish a new post, update an existing one, and carry scheduled pieces from [Automations](https://ranksmile.pl/docs/content/automations) to their publish time.

Updates matter as much as new posts. Most of the value in [Auto-Optimize](https://ranksmile.pl/docs/content/auto-optimize) is in improving pages that already exist, and without a connection that means a manual edit for every change.

**It publishes what you approved:**

Nothing goes live automatically. A scheduled piece publishes at its scheduled time because you scheduled it; an optimization publishes because you approved it.

## Sites that are not WordPress

The plugin is WordPress-specific. On other platforms the rest of the product works unchanged, and publishing stays a manual step.

If your site is not WordPress, the workflow that loses the least is to score and optimize in Ranksmile, then copy the approved version across in one pass rather than editing in both places.
